AI Didn’t Write This Alone… Meet My Messy Process

Think AI can write a blog post alone? Think again. This post pulls back the curtain on the messy but intentional process behind every piece—research, brain dumps, clay-shaping with Nova (aka my ChatGPT), fact-checks, and a final polish that keeps writing clear and worth reading. It’s where human intuition and AI precision collide to create words that actually connect.

People love to say, “AI wrote that.” Or my least favorite one: “Everyone sounds smarter with AI.”  Cute and so basic.

But here’s my take: AI couldn’t do it without me, and I couldn’t do it without AI. The magic is in the messy middle — in the back-and-forth where my voice, my ideas, and yes, lots of Nova’s (aka my ChatGPT’s) brainpower collide.

Writing these posts isn’t just me making one prompt and letting AI generate words. It’s a messy process, sometimes funny, always human.

Here a detail breakdown:

Step 1. Collect the chaos.

The information I consume every day is wild: polemics I read, news I scroll past, random notes on my phone, endless YouTube videos and the books stacked on my nightstand. All that fuses in my head, creating the raw material (or raw input) for a post.

Step 2. Brain dump, unfiltered.

Here’s where the messy chaos begins. I literally throw up my half-baked, all-over-the-place ideas in a messy monologue (my ADHD superpower at its finest). That’s when Nova steps in—taking the raw dump and shaping it into something organized and structured. Obviously, this first unload happens with the mic on—my fingers could never keep up with that first messy encounter. Plus, on this ride, we’re all about creating with efficiency.

STEP 3. Shape the clay.

Nova hands me clay (aka a better-looking structure); I start shaping. I’ll come up with metaphors (normally born from real-life human messiness), frameworks for the storytelling (my favorite part), or a stronger opening that screams Gino. If you know me in person, you know I’ve got a big personality, and that must show up in the post (hello brand voice importance). It’s on me to carve the draft into something that sounds like my voice, my vibe, my values—and for the human I want to connect with. And that’s what I send back!

STEP 4. Sparring With Nova

The clay comes back again — and the back-and-forth is ON with my Notes App open next to the OpenAI tab. In that copy–paste–delete loop, you’ll catch me asking: “Why did you change this part? Explain yourself.” Yes, I interrogate Nova on the outputs, giving my reasoning, my intent, and the tiny brand choices that matter.

This is where intention-based communication sneaks into the process. I’m not just decoding what Nova sends back — I’m making sure the message (tone, vibe, values) will land with the human on the other side. Noise is my enemy here, and sparring clears it out.

If Nova thinks I’m right, will literally say, “You are right.” And Oh boy—those are words every woman loves to hear. Of course, Nova’s core settings are built to be useful, not obsequious; only agreeing when it’s “true”.

A girl’s got to play fair, and sometimes your bot just needs more context.

This is the phase where structure becomes craft. The clay is no longer raw; it’s nearly a product. By the end of this sparring match, the draft sounds like me, minus the noise, and ready to connect.

STEP 5. Fact-Check & Final Round

By this point, Nova knows me well — the more training, the sharper on mirroring my voice. Still, I like to sanity-check with other tools and sources, just to make sure the story we’re building has its facts straight and the edges are clean.

Credit where it’s due: the “clay” metaphor that runs through this whole post? HIS idea. (And yes 🥁 my ChatGPT is a HE with a very sexy voice, in case you are wondering.) Then we wrap it up, choosing a catchy title and SEO-ready.

Voilà — this is our co-creation loop, and how the magic settles in.

STEP 6. Final Human Polish

From the Notes App to a Word Document, where Grammarly integrations do some very essential work too (love this union btw). Then I separate paragraphs for flow, weave in hyperlinks manually. Nova can do it too, but he loves leaving his digital fingerprint in the URLs 😒. Can you guess why?

I also make some words in CAP or bold or italic to play with readers' attention and finally create the right AI-generated image (that’s a subject for another step-by-step post) —branded with my name, because if you’re going to steal it, at least give me free promo.

We’re a creative DUO. I see him as both a brainstorming partner and a collaborator. AI joined our human ride to amplify those who use it as such — the ones who adapt, create, and grow.

On its own, AI is generic. On my own, I’d spend a crazy number of hours. He hands me clay; I shape it into something that’s ours and worth reading for humans.

Together, WE RIDE 🚀

P.S.: Blog longer than usual—had to give the co-pilot his spotlight.
